This is my second year to choose this planner called “A Simple Plan”. I found it for the first time last year when my oldest was going into first grade and I realized I really wanted to step up my planning and record keeping game. I looked at many different planners and that caused me to realized that I didn’t want to print it myself and I didn’t want one full of pages for menu planning and budgeting and things basically unrelated to home school. I use my Erin Condren for my daily to-dos and meal planning and I use a planner from the dollar tree for budgeting and bill paying purposes. Yes 3 planners but it works for me to keep it all separate.
I like that it doesn’t have the subjects pre-labeled so I can personalize it based on what we are currently working on. I really like the monthly goals section because I’m a list maker by nature and goals help give me more accountability. There is also a reading list and a supplies needed list in this section before every month. Then you go into the month at a glance, then the weeks at a glance.
This past year I didn’t pre-plan as much as I would have liked to or maybe should have but we had a good year. What I did use the planner for more than anything was for record keeping. I recorded what both my boys did after we did the work. I used 3 pens to write with for the things we did together I used blue, for my oldest I used green, and for my youngest I used orange.
Here is a picture of my trusty Erin Condren Life planner, I can’t wait till I can order another one. The covers are so pretty. To save $10 off your first Erin Condren order click here
